B.A.M. Industrial Services provides industrial machinery installation and related field services at customer facilities. We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Traveling Industrial Machinery Installation Technician / Millwright to join our field installation team.

This is a home-based traveling position. The employee will travel directly from home to assigned customer jobsites and is not required to report regularly to our Orlando office.

Position Summary

The Traveling Industrial Machinery Installation Technician / Millwright performs the assembly, installation, alignment, relocation, and commissioning support of large industrial machinery and production equipment.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electro-mechanical skills, practical industrial installation experience, and the flexibility to travel based on project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, dismantle, relocate, and modify industrial machinery and production equipment.
• Set, level, align, anchor, and mechanically assemble equipment according to installation drawings and manufacturer specifications.
• Assemble mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electro-mechanical components.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, equipment layouts, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, precision levels, measuring instruments, and alignment equipment.
• Assist with machinery moves, equipment setting, lifting, and rigging operations.
• Operate forklifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
• Assist with equipment startup, testing, troubleshooting, punch-list work, and commissioning.
• Follow OSHA requirements, customer safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, fall-protection requirements, and company safety policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
• Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, project managers, and other trades.
• Complete time records, installation reports, expense reports, and other required project documentation.
• Travel to customer facilities and work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts when required by project schedules.

Required Qualifications

• At least two years of hands-on experience installing, assembling, relocating, servicing, or maintaining industrial machinery or comparable production equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with industrial machinery, conveyors, production lines, automated equipment, or similar systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, and assembly instructions.
• Experience using industrial hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction or General Industry course completion card appropriate for assigned jobsites.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently and remain away from home for the duration of assigned projects.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English on customer jobsites.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry course completion card.
• Trade school certificate, associate degree, or completed apprenticeship in:
• • Mechatronics
  • Industrial Maintenance Technology
  • Electromechanical Technology
  • Mechanical Technology
  • Automation or Manufacturing Technology
  • Millwright or Industrial Mechanic trade
• Documented training or previous authorization to operate:
• • Forklifts
  • Telehandlers
  • Scissor lifts
  • Boom lifts or other mobile elevating work platforms
• Qualified rigger or signal person training.
• NCCCO/CCO Rigger certification.
• Experience with machinery rigging, equipment setting, laser alignment, leveling, grouting, and anchoring.
• Welding, fabrication, electrical wiring, motor, sensor, VFD, or PLC experience.
• First Aid/CPR, fall protection, confined-space, or lockout/tagout training.

Physical and Jobsite Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier loads using appropriate lifting equipment.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work overhead for extended periods.
• Comfortable working at heights from ladders, scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms.
• Able to work in active industrial and construction environments that may include noise, dust, heat, cold, and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.

Compensation and Travel

• Hourly pay of $25.00–$30.00, depending on experience, technical ability, and qualifications.
• Overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
• Travel directly from the employee’s home to assigned customer jobsites.
• Travel arrangements, lodging, mileage, airfare, and other approved business expenses handled in accordance with company policy.
