Why This Role
Not a production line. Not repetitive. This is custom, short‑run, and one‑off fabrication. You will own projects end‑to‑end—fitting, welding, and finishing unique assemblies with minimal supervision.
Role Snapshot- Primary process: MIG (GMAW) on carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless.
- TIG (GTAW) when required; TIG capability is a strong plus.
- Fabricate from prints: sheet metal and structural components.
- Read/interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and job travelers.
- Measure, lay out, verify dimensions and tolerances throughout the build.
- Grind/clean welds to meet visual and structural specs.
- Operate standard shop tools: grinders, saws, drills, etc.
- Hit safety, quality, and scheduling targets; keep the work area organized.
- Hands‑on job shop welding/fabrication experience (not a production‑only background).
- Advanced MIG welding across multiple materials (carbon steel, aluminum, stainless).
- Independent print and weld symbol interpretation.
- Strong fit‑up, layout, and problem‑solving capability.
- Comfort with changing priorities and diverse builds.
- Reliable, punctual, able to work with minimal oversight.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.; stand for long periods.
- TIG experience (GTAW).
- AWS or similar welding certifications.
- Experience working from incomplete/evolving drawings.
- Finishing/grinding for appearance or coating requirements.
Expect a practical welding/fabrication test during the interview. Please bring your personal welding gear for the hands‑on assessment.
