Travel RN - Case Management/Utilization Review - Case Management

American Traveler

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Case Management/Care Coordination position at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring prior CA Dignity Health experience and expertise in both discharge planning and utilization review. Requirements Active CA RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted Active BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted BSN required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Prior recent CA Dignity Health experience is required for consideration Familiarity with Interqual criteria strongly preferred Proficiency in Cerner EMR Strong skills in collaboration, teamwork, effective communication, and ability to reprioritize throughout the day Experience working with all payer types, including uninsured and homeless populations Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) before an offer can be confirmed Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked — both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Copy of driver's license required for consideration Responsibilities Acute care hospital setting at a Level II Trauma facility Care Coordination/Case Management unit covering all inpatient areas of the hospital (no outpatient or home care) Caseload of approximately 15–20 patients/consults per day Responsible for both discharge planning and utilization management (UM/UR) Interqual (IQ) criteria used for utilization review; training provided for candidates unfamiliar with IQ Cerner EMR used for charting 8-hour day shifts, with hours generally between 8am–5pm Every other weekend required (at least one full weekend per month, depending on staffing) First to float policy applies Respiratory therapy and hospitalist/intensivist available in-house 24/7 Responsibilities include completing initial assessments, Interqual reviews, discharge planning, and utilization management across all hospital units Orientation includes 5 days of care coordination new employee orientation; unit-specific orientation length is determined on a case‑by‑case basis A Pass/Fail sterile technique test (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) is administered on the first day of orientation Candidates who have been directly employed (full‑time, part‑time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity‑affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered Holiday coverage is not required, but willingness to work holidays is welcomed Business casual attire required (no scrubs) Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
