Field Services Technician

Job Description Job Description Position Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and performing preventative maintenance on aerial work platforms, telehandlers, forklifts, and other material handling equipment and occasional crane at customer job sites. The technician will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and diesel engine systems while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently in a timely manner.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, forklifts, and other construction equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, transmission, steering, braking, and electronic control systems.
• Repair and replace hydraulic cylinders, hoses, pumps, motors, valves, and steering components.
• Diagnose CAN Bus, sensor, and controller faults using manufacturer diagnostic software.
• Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Complete OSHA and ANSI annual inspections on aerial equipment.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate service reports, work orders, and parts documentation.
• Communicate repair recommendations with customers and service management.
• Operate a equipped service truck while maintaining inventory and tools.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns in the field.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance when representing the company.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience repairing forklifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, or heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (12V, 24V, CAN Bus).
• Experience with diesel engines and emissions systems.
• Ability to diagnose electronic control systems.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
