Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry to join our dynamic team in a 26-bed acute care unit that caters to a diverse patient population, primarily consisting of general surgery and trauma patients. The majority of patients on the unit are post-surgical, comprising 90% of the total case load, while the remaining 10% have medical diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from surgery and those with trauma-related conditions.
• Utilize cardiac monitoring, capnography, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and continuous pulse oximetry in patient care.
• Effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Schedule

This position requires working night shifts, with options for either 36 or 48 hours per week. Nurses are expected to work every other weekend and every other holiday, including 2 out of the 3 major winter holidays. Time off can be approved up to 40 hours.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Epic experience is required for this role.
• Must adhere to floating policies as stipulated.
• Candidates currently holding a Virginia nursing license or those who have applied for one are encouraged to apply.
