Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry position requiring compact or LA RN licensure and at least 1 year of telemetry/med-surg experience.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
- Patient ratios of 1:5 (days) and 1:6 (nights)
- Floating required
- Call required, with no call-in option
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Manages cardiac drips without titration, EKG monitoring, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or LA) required in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry/med-surg experience required
- Experience with cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, and telemetry monitoring required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Up-to-date NURSYS report required
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and care for patients with dysrhythmias, CVA, and related conditions
- May be assigned to an emergency response team during facility emergencies, requiring the nurse to remain onsite until relief arrives
- Required to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Orientation held 5 days a week
- Two Manager/Supervisor references required prior to starting contract (Charge RNs not accepted)
- Former permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
- RTO must be documented on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
