Adjunct Instructor-Law Enforcement Academy

Adjunct Instructor – Law Enforcement Academy Position is security sensitive and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males 18–25 must be registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment. Position Summary Primary duties include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, and mentoring students in and outside the classroom. The Adjunct Faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, or dual‑credit modalities and adheres to College policies and procedures. Required Education Must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching workforce certificate or degree‑completion courses, including an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Required Experience Five (5) years full‑time verifiable paid experience with a Law Enforcement Agency and a minimum TCOLE Advanced Peace Officer License. Preferred Education & Experience TCOLE Instructor License, TCOLE Firearms Instructor License, TCOLE SFST Instructor License, NAPD or TEEX Driving Instructor License, Mental Health Peace Officer. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual‑credit courses; ability to communicate effectively with students, college personnel, and public groups; ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice without discrimination; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards and observe College policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Teach courses in the approved discipline. Facilitate student acquisition of learning outcomes. Mentor students in and outside the classroom. Create and maintain effective learning environments across modalities. Adhere to College policies and procedures.
