Job Overview A law firm seeks a Civil Municipal Attorney in Stillwater, MN to primarily handle civil municipal duties on behalf of Minnesota communities. Duties Advise city leaders on ethics, personnel, ordinances, contracts, land use, taxes, and finance. Stay informed on changes to state and federal laws impacting the city. Inform elected officials and city staff about legislative developments. Draft city ordinances and contracts. Review contracts and memoranda to protect the city's legal interests. Attend city council and city staff meetings, including night meetings. Respond to clients promptly via phone, email, or in person. Requirements Admitted to practice in Minnesota and in good standing. Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal communication skills. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to build and maintain professional relationships. Emotionally positive, resilient, and adaptable. Focused, reliable, and results-oriented. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Self-starter with multi-tasking and follow-up skills. Experience in research, communication, and problem-solving. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Minnesota. Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and detail-oriented abilities. Proficient in legal research and drafting.
