Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled, motivated, and patient-focused Veterinary Technician to join our Primary Care team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospital environment as well as a high-demand mobile veterinary practice and is looking to continue growing their clinical skills in a high-level setting. This role includes, but is not limited to, obtaining medical histories, maintaining the flow of appointments throughout the day (in hospital or on the road), performing venipuncture, client education, and more. Our technicians must be able to work with cats and dogs. Applicant must be experienced, independent and organized to maintain the flow of the mobile service day-to-day.

Once your shift begins, you will step into a fast-paced, team-centered hospital environment where your role truly matters. A typical day may include welcoming clients and patients, assisting in outpatient appointments in a clinical setting or in clients' homes with our mobile service. We also see patients for walk-ins with our urgent care service and perform soft tissue surgery along with dentistry in our surgical service. Throughout the day, you will help bring calm, clarity, and compassion to clients who may be stressed, worried, or navigating complex medical information.

Key responsibilities include providing high-quality nursing care to a variety of species under the supervision of veterinarians, assisting doctors in exam rooms or in client homes, preparing vaccines and fill preventatives, restraining for venipuncture, exams, and treatments, expressing anal glands and performing nail trims, assisting with diagnostic imaging, stocking and cleaning workspaces, obtaining patient history and entering into the electronic medical record, practicing fear-free initiatives, maintaining clear and accurate medical documentation, assisting with inducing anesthesia and preparation of surgical sites, preparing and maintaining surgical suites and equipment, educating pet owners on treatments, medications, and wellness recommendations, monitoring sedations and general anesthetic cases, accurately recording patient data, monitoring vitals, and administering medications, upholding hospital standards and contributing to a positive, supportive culture, and practicing fear-free initiatives.

Skills and qualifications include 1+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician, CVT, RVT, or LVT (preferred), a valid driver's license, comfortable driving the company vehicle as far as 30 miles from the hospital, strong technical skills, including venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, and patient handling (preferred), excellent communication and client service skills, ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-pressure environment, strong teamwork and collaboration across departments, and practice fear-free initiatives.

Physical and work environment requirements include the ability to lift and carry animals or equipment weighing up to 50lbs, capable of standing, walking, kneeling, and bending for extended periods, comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, excellent attention to detail, critical thinking ability, and comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment, and may be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on department needs.
