As a Prep Cook, you help ensure every Poké2 Grill bowl begins with fresh, safely handled, consistently prepared ingredients.

Your primary responsibility is to prepare ingredients and menu items according to our recipes, portion standards, prep priorities, and food safety procedures. You maintain a clean, organized workspace and help keep the team stocked and ready for service.

Depending on the needs of the shift and your training, you may also assist with dishes, deliveries, line setup, guest service, and opening or closing duties.

Success in this role means working efficiently without sacrificing safety or accuracy, communicating clearly, and taking pride in the details that make our food consistent.

• Follow Poké2 Grill’s recipes, preparation procedures, portion standards, and food safety practices.
• Complete assigned prep according to the prep list, required quantities, and shift priorities.
• Accurately label, date, rotate, and store ingredients and prepared items.
• Check and maintain required food temperatures according to company procedures.
• Notify the manager promptly about unsafe temperatures, questionable ingredients, shortages, equipment issues, or anything that could affect food safety or service.
• Reduce avoidable waste through accurate preparation, proper storage, and careful ingredient handling.
• Keep prep areas, equipment, utensils, and storage spaces clean and organized. Clean as you go.
• Follow personal hygiene, handwashing, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures.
• Use knives and kitchen equipment safely and only as trained.
• Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries according to company procedures.
• Complete assigned opening and closing duties, including dishes, cleaning, trash removal, and line setup or breakdown.
• Communicate progress, delays, and support needs to the manager and other team members.
• Work independently when assigned and cooperate with teammates during shared tasks.
• Ask for clarification when instructions or standards are unclear.
• Participate in training and apply feedback to improve accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
• Keep availability current, check the schedule regularly, and follow attendance and shift coverage procedures.
• Follow company policies and applicable health and safety requirements.

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Clear, respectful communication with managers and team members.
• Attention to detail when measuring, portioning, labeling, and preparing food.
• Ability to organize tasks, manage time, and adjust priorities with direction.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality and safety.
• Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and support teammates.
• Ability to maintain appropriate personal hygiene and a clean workspace.
• Ability to safely use knives and food preparation equipment after training.

• Previous restaurant, kitchen, or food preparation experience preferred.
• Culinary education is welcome but not required.
• Willingness to learn Poké2 Grill’s recipes, procedures, and standards.
• Food handler certification as required for the location.

This role involves standing and walking for extended periods; frequent reaching, bending, grasping, and repetitive hand movements; and working around refrigerated areas, kitchen heat, wet surfaces, and cleaning products.

Duties may include lifting and moving supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, using appropriate assistance or equipment when needed. Frequent handwashing and safe use of knives and food preparation equipment are required.
