Position Nurse Clinical/Trauma & Acute Care Surgical Services 9-200 UB/7A RN – Staff, Full‑Time (Grade 10) Location: Lexington, KY Salary Range: $28.00 – $39.10 per hour Job Summary Registered Nurses in the PAV 9200 Trauma Acute Care Surgical Service line care primarily adult patients with complex medical conditions resulting from trauma and acute surgical procedures. The unit provides progressive care focusing on all surgical subspecialties (orthopedic, vascular, ENT, plastic, gyne‑onc), continuous cardiac monitoring, and extensive wound care. Staff use self‑scheduling to accommodate requests and improve satisfaction. Primary responsibilities include: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians; and adhering to university, federal, state, and local regulations. The role supports collaborative efforts among nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and improve patient outcomes. Required Qualifications Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and at least one year of RN experience preferred. Experience: No prior experience required; preferred RN experience as noted. License/Certification: Active Kentucky Registered Nurse license or equivalent (temporary work permit, provisional, or compact state license in good standing); American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date. Physical Requirements and Shift Daily lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of 50–100 pounds; frequent handling of 25–50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury risks from patients or instruments. Shift: Must work three 12‑hour day shifts (7:00AM–7:30PM) and also work some weekends and holidays.
