Position Summary

ASSISTANT NURSE OPERATIONS MANAGER

(NI/Echo/Vascular/Pre/Post Op) The ANOM is knowledgeable in cardiac anatomy, arrhythmias, cardiac medications, supplies and equipment used during procedures. The ANOM will be responsible for circulating and monitoring cardiac procedures, specializes in cardiac care, assisting with cardiac arrhythmia procedures, catheter ablations, implantation of cardiac devices, sterile techniques and collaborate closely with the electrophysiologists, anesthesiologist, and cardiac technologist and any other disciplines as needed to ensure patient safety and efficiency. Proficiency in assessment, documentation, and critical thinking. Monitoring patients' cardiac status before during and post procedure. Assist Anesthesia with sedation. Adequately perform conscious sedation safely during device implants when directed. Follow up and coordinate lab test with providers, monitor and report lab results. Be prepared to respond to cardiac emergencies including arrhythmias or complications during procedures. Medical, Dental, Vision 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan w/matching Health Savings Account (HSA) Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Paid Time Off (up to 5 weeks to start) Life Insurance Extended Leave Plan (ELP) Family Care (childcare, elder care, pet care) Educational Benefits including tuition reimbursement & monthly payments to help pay down any graduated school debt Responsibilities Essential Functions Shared 24/7 accountability with Nursing Operations Manager Participates in the recruitment and selection of new team members for the unit through interviews, peer selection, and evaluation of candidates Coordinates with the Unit/Department Nursing Operations Manager and Human Resources as indicated on corrective action, progressive discipline, and career advancement Investigates event reports and provides feedback to both Unit/Department Nursing Operations Manager and team members Oversight of schedules for the unit to ensure the proper mix of staff are available each shift to provide appropriate patient care Maintains oversight of patient flow and intervenes as indicated to achieve expected outcomes Performs Nurse Leader rounds and reviews, to identify variance from nursing best practice and regulatory or hospital standards. Participates in process/quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes and standard work Ensures the customer experience is upheld by all team members on shift and provides service recovery to patients and their families as needed Interfaces with patients and families to provide instruction, promote participation in patient care, and to coordinate nursing activities Participates and/or leads staff meetings, GEMBA board, or huddles; demonstrates ownership of unit and outcomes Performs direct patient care activities as required to meet operational needs Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment Respects the rights and privacy of others and holds staff member information in strict confidence Ensures incident reports are completed appropriately and follows up with event reports as needed Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures Qualifications Education/Training Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) required if no Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with Graduate degree in Business or health-related field preferred Licensure/Certification Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Experience Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute setting #J-18808-Ljbffr Brookwood Baptist Health
