Associate Attorney

Associate Attorney Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our growing law firm. The Associate Attorney will provide high-quality legal services in litigation and transactional matters, support client representation, and assist senior attorneys with case strategy and trial preparation. The ideal candidate is a diligent advocate with strong legal writing skills, practical experience in contract law and compliance, and familiarity with alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration. Key Responsibilities Represent clients in litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs. Conduct legal research and produce clear, persuasive legal writing for court filings and client communications. Advise clients on contract drafting, review, negotiation, and enforcement. Manage case files and coordinate discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial logistics. Prepare for trial by developing case strategy, preparing witnesses, exhibits, and trial binders. Participate in mediation and arbitration sessions and assist in settlement negotiations. Provide counsel on compliance matters, risk management, and regulatory issues. Handle intellectual property and real estate transactional matters, including due diligence and contract drafting, where applicable. Interact directly with clients to gather facts, advise on legal options, and maintain client relationships. Work collaboratively with partners and support staff to meet deadlines and billable targets. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the Washington State bar in good standing. 3+ years of experience in litigation and transactional practice, preferably with exposure to contract law and intellectual property or real estate matters. Demonstrated experience in legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and settlement agreements. Proven negotiation skills and experience representing clients in dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. Familiarity with trial preparation and courtroom procedures; trial experience preferred. Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients. Knowledge of compliance practices, regulatory frameworks, and risk assessment. Excellent case management and organizational abilities, including experience with case management software and e-filing systems. High ethical standards, professionalism, and ability to manage confidential client information.
