Behavioral Health Therapist

Job Title: Licensed Mental Health Therapist Organization: Healing Hands Mental Health Services Reports To: Executive Director Location: Hybrid/Community-Based Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time, Non-Exempt Position Summary The Licensed Mental Health Professional provides independent, high-quality mental health assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic services to individuals and families. This role delivers evidence-based, trauma-informed care while supporting recovery, emotional well-being, and improved quality of life for clients served by Healing Hands. The clinician practices in accordance with professional ethics, state licensure requirements, and organizational policies. Key Responsibilities Clinical Services Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans Provide individual, group, and/or family psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities Crisis Intervention & Risk Management Assess and respond to mental health crises, including safety planning and de-escalation Coordinate crisis interventions and referrals to higher levels of care when needed Comply with mandatory reporting and risk management protocols Care Coordination & Collaboration Collaborate with case managers, medical providers, and interdisciplinary team members Participate in treatment team meetings and clinical consultations Coordinate referrals to community resources and support services Documentation & Compliance Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation Ensure services meet payer, regulatory, and ethical standards Participate in audits, quality assurance, and utilization review activities Professional Leadership & Support Provide clinical guidance and consultation to non-licensed or license-eligible staff as appropriate Model ethical practice, professionalism, and trauma-informed care Maintain licensure, continuing education, and professional competency Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field Active, unrestricted clinical license (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LPCC, Psychologist, or equivalent per state requirements) 3+ years of post-licensure clinical experience Preferred Experience in outpatient, community mental health, or integrated care settings Training in evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, trauma-focused therapies, etc.) Experience serving diverse or underserved populations Skills & Competencies Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities Cultural humility and trauma-informed practice Strong documentation and time-management skills Sound ethical judgment and clinical decision-making Why Join Healing Hands Opportunity to lead operations for a mission-driven organization focused on healing, compassion, and community impact Collaborative leadership environment Meaningful work that makes a difference in people’s lives Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement Healing Hands is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
