Medical Assistant

We are also proud to be a Certified Great Place to Work. BHN is currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Outpatient Psychiatry program!
The schedule for this position is as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. Thursday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Friday 8 am - 3 pm.
What You'll Do:
- Provide services to individuals and coordination/support to psychiatrists and APRNs.
- Measure and record vital signs.
- Utilize electronic prescription for all prescription needs.
- Call pharmacy with necessary regarding medication changes or confirmation of medication and dosages.
- Manage lab orders; submit electronic orders; follow up with labs to request results.
- Complete paperwork related to service in a quality and timely manner.
- Dispose of Biohazard waste according to OSHA standards.
- Prepare and obtain medication prior authorization.
Who You Are:
- Medical Assistant Certificate or Degree required.
- Minimum one year experience working with a psychiatric population required.
- Able to review/understand medication dosages and medication instructions.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
