Registered Nurse (RN) - NeuroSurgical

This position is designed for a Registered Nurse specializing in Neurosurgery. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients within a specialized neuro-surgical unit.

Role Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care in a Neurosurgical setting, focusing on patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, seizures, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological diagnoses.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are maintained.
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and departments.
• Occasionally take on charge responsibilities when necessary.

Unit Information:

• Patient Ratios: 1 Nurse to 5-6 Patients
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: EPIC

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient acute care experience in Neurosurgery and Neurology.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Additional Information:

• Standard expectation to work every other full weekend.
• Candidates should be prepared to work at least one of the major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day).
• Night shift will require orientation on day shift; availability for the entire week is mandatory for orientation.
