Propulsion Performance Engineer - Level 3

Description Propulsion Performance Engineer for the Propulsion Performance Team; responsible for advancing propulsion system capabilities across Lockheed Martin Aeronautics. What You Will Be Doing Lead technical analysis, modeling, testing, and integration of propulsion systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Responsibilities Conduct performance analysis of aircraft/engine interfaces and identify optimization opportunities. Lead installation, testing, and validation of new propulsion systems. Develop and refine propulsion system models and simulations. Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with cross-functional design teams. Support program travel and collaborate with engine manufacturers and external partners. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or equivalent engineering discipline. Experience in gas turbine performance modeling and/or analysis. Proficiency with Matlab or Simulink. Desired Skills Proficient in NPSS, Python, C++, or similar languages. Experience interfacing with customers and suppliers. Experience leading and interfacing with other functional teams. A good understanding of thermodynamics and jet propulsion fundamentals. Security Clearance Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active Secret clearance. Other Important Information Work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Schedule: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
