Production Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Job TitleEssential Job FunctionsAccountable for the health, safety, and well-being of employees on shift, ensuring compliance with all Company policies, safety standards, and applicable occupational health and safety legislationLead and supervise shift operations to achieve production, quality, cost, delivery, and downtime objectivesMonitor and manage shop floor performance, providing direction, coaching, and support to employees to meet operational targetsCoordinate staffing and scheduling activities to ensure adequate coverage by qualified employees and address absenteeism or staffing shortagesConduct performance management activities, including coaching, employee development, attendance management, and corrective action as requiredEnsure compliance with quality standards and initiate actions to address nonconforming products, processes, or systemsConduct and support audits including safety, quality, standard operating procedures, process, and 5S audits, ensuring corrective actions are completedFacilitate regular shift communication meetings to communicate business objectives, safety requirements, operational priorities, and performance resultsMonitor employee training requirements and ensure employees maintain required qualifications and certificationsIdentify and remove production constraints, improve workflow, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and efficiencySupport investigation and resolution of safety incidents, quality concerns, customer issues, and operational problems utilizing root cause analysis and corrective actionsEnsure compliance with Company policies, procedures, standards of business conduct, and applicable collective agreement provisions where applicablePromote a culture of teamwork, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvementPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedTop 3 Competencies Needed for Success in the RoleSafety & Quality Focus: Develop safety as a team value, reinforce safe behaviors, and challenge unsafe onesInfluential Leadership: Build rapport and positively impact teamsPassion for Excellence: Take ownership of results and objectivesQualifications RequiredHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environmentDemonstrated experience leading teams in a fast-paced operational settingStrong knowledge of health and safety principles, quality systems, and manufacturing processesProven ability to coach, motivate, develop, and hold employees accountable for performanceEffective problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skillsStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and production reporting systemsAbility to work a 2-2-3 schedule consisting of 12-hour shiftsQualifications PreferredPostsecondary education in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related fieldExperience in a continuous manufacturing environmentExperience working in a unionized manufacturing environmentLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training or certificationWorking knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective action methodologies, and performance metricsExperience with workforce planning, scheduling, and employee developmentOther RequirementsAbility to work in a manufacturing environment and regularly walk production areas throughout the shiftAbility to stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to occasionally climb stairs, bend, stoop, reach, and perform other physical movements required in the workplaceAbility to visually inspect equipment, processes, and work areas and respond to changing operational conditionsAbility to communicate effectively with employees in both office and manufacturing environmentsAbility to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed footwear, and other required safety equipmentAbility to occasionally lift and/or move items up to 25 poundsAbility to work a 2-2-3 schedule consisting of 12-hour shiftsWe offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, company paid holidays, paid vacations, and education assistance.
