Wound Care and Hyperbaric Nurse Manager

Job Overview The position is responsible for managing day‑to‑day operations and ensuring high quality patient care is provided across multiple inpatient and outpatient locations. Duties include developing, managing, and achieving budgetary and financial objectives, quality improvement initiatives, program service development, and personnel management and development for all assigned locations. The role works closely with shared service leaders, local care‑site administration, providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest value specialty care. This is a local leadership position for wound, skin, ostomy, and hyperbaric shared service. Typical distribution of job duties: 50% Operational, 30% Quality Improvement, 20% Strategic. Essential Functions Coordinate performance and compliance with patient safety initiatives and regulatory bodies such as Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, DOPL, NFPA, ASME, PVHO, and other unit specific accrediting and certifying bodies. Collaborate with provider leadership to develop and implement department strategies that align with Enterprise, Region, Care‑site, and Shared Services. Lead the achievement of goals and implement action plans to improve performance. Demonstrate cost‑effective use of resources by taking appropriate action to meet departmental financial performance goals. Work with Shared Service and Care‑site leadership to develop and submit operating and capital budget requests. Participate in interdisciplinary committees throughout the organization. Create a culture for caregivers that supports efficient, safe, effective, and compassionate care. Hold caregivers accountable for outcomes using patient satisfaction metrics, national benchmarks, and other resources. Serve as a liaison for providers in the department and medical group leadership. Manage the department human resources including hiring, performance reviews, staff development/education, retention, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and terminations. Ensure documentation and maintenance of caregiver competency and necessary training. Provide communication to caregivers and providers through rounding, huddles, staff meetings, and other forms of communication. Resolve customer service concerns. Ensure facility is in good working order and that equipment is functioning properly. Skills Hiring and Human Resources (HR) Patient Services Patient Safety Patient Satisfaction Payroll Taking Initiative Strategic Planning Quality Improvement Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent leadership experience; experience in budget management; ability to develop strong team dynamics in customer‑based environments. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a medical field or healthcare administration from an accredited institution; ability to work in a compressed gas environment; current clinical or compact license with the ability to obtain a license in the state of employment (if applicable); Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers (if applicable); experience working in wound care, ostomy, and hyperbaric medicine. Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, and monitors; identify equipment and supplies; assess patient needs; frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication and ability to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, especially during emergency situations. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy; frequent computer use and typing for documentation and accessing information. Location St. Marys Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, Colorado. Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Compensation Hourly rate: $44.33 – $68.42 (actual rate depends on experience).
