Job Description
The Assembler plays a key role in producing high-quality cardiovascular medical devices within a dedicated manufacturing cell. In this role, you perform detailed assembly work and operate a variety of equipment and machinery by following documented procedures. Tasks may include electronic assembly, casting and coating, mechanical assembly, and packaging of medical devices and related components. You work in a controlled cleanroom environment, using microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering equipment, and adhesive bonding techniques as required. You complete routine assignments according to standardized procedures under close and continual review, perform visual inspections and precision measurements, conduct tests using computerized test equipment, and maintain accurate documentation to ensure full traceability and quality compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assemble cardiovascular medical devices and related components in a manufacturing cell following documented procedures and standardized work instructions.
- Perform detailed electronic, mechanical, and casting/coating assembly tasks using appropriate tools, equipment, and materials.
- Operate various equipment and machinery in a controlled cleanroom environment, including microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering tools, and adhesive bonding equipment.
- Clean tools and equipment according to documented procedures to maintain proper functioning and cleanliness standards.
- Carry out routine assignments and production tasks in accordance with specified and standardized procedures under close supervision.
- Perform visual inspections and precision measurements on components and assemblies to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
- Conduct tests on units using computerized test equipment and record results accurately.
- Repair and correct devices and components using microscopes and applicable tools when issues or defects are identified.
- Package finished devices, ensuring all components are accurate, properly labeled, and that all required documentation is complete.
- Maintain accurate records so travelers, shop floor paperwork, and quality documents remain up to date, ensuring all parts are traceable and any quality issues can be addressed.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices and equipment when performing operations.
- Support a professional and businesslike environment by adhering to facility standards and cleanroom protocols.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic English language skills to read, understand, and follow written procedures and documentation.
- At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to perform detailed assembly work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Capability to follow standardized procedures and documented work instructions consistently.
- Comfort working in a controlled cleanroom environment.
- Ability to use microscopes for inspection and repair tasks.
- Skill in operating basic hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering equipment, and adhesive bonding tools.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and precision measurements on small components and assemblies.
- Basic ability to operate computerized test equipment and record test results.
- Strong focus on safety and adherence to safety guidelines and use of protective equipment.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and complete shop floor paperwork and quality documents.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in medical device assembly or production is highly beneficial.
- Experience in cleanroom manufacturing environments is an advantage.
- Machine operation experience in production settings.
- Previous experience in food service or similar fast-paced environments demonstrating reliability and attention to cleanliness.
- Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and part traceability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a manufacturing cell.
- Willingness to learn and follow global gowning procedures and cleanroom protocols.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility with a controlled cleanroom environment focused on cardiovascular medical device production. You work with microscopes, computerized test equipment, and a variety of hand tools and machinery, following strict safety and cleanliness protocols. The atmosphere is professional and businesslike, and visitors are welcomed regularly, so maintaining a polished image is important. Dress code requirements include professionally appropriate clothing; jeans are acceptable if they have no rips, holes, or stains and comply with global gowning procedures. Clothing with suggestive or derogatory language, exposed or revealing garments, dirty or stained clothing, pajama pants, bedroom shoes, or house slippers are not permissible. In the cleanroom, you follow specific gowning standards, which include no makeup, no false eyelashes or eyelash extensions, and no jewelry, to maintain product integrity and meet stringent cleanliness and safety requirements.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.25 - $22.83/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
