Work Environment

This position involves working onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in Norfolk, Virginia. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life environment while providing crucial support during the weekdays for our residents. Physiotherapy sessions will take place in well-equipped therapy rooms and common areas designed to foster a safe and engaging atmosphere for rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive and thorough physical therapy evaluations to assess residents' mobility, strength, and functional capabilities, creating a clear picture of their rehabilitation needs.
• Develop, implement, and modify personalized treatment plans that aim for effective pain management, mobility enhancement, and fall prevention, tailored to each resident's specific conditions and progress.
• Administer various therapeutic interventions, including, but not limited to, manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and balance training activities.
• Utilize and recommend assistive devices and mobility aids, ensuring residents can maximize their independence and safety while navigating their daily activities.
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff, occupational therapists, and caregivers to deliver seamless continuity of care and support the team in achieving comprehensive treatment goals.
• Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs, effective mobility strategies, and essential safety precautions to enhance outcomes post-discharge.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation in alignment with SNF regulations and industry standards to support ongoing care and quality assurance.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our residents primarily include older adults who require specialized rehabilitative care due to surgery, illness, or chronic health issues. You will be working with individuals who may experience varied levels of physical limitations and neurological impairments, requiring a compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy. Understanding their unique challenges is essential for developing effective management plans conducive to their recovery and independence.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active and valid Physical Therapy license in Virginia, confirming your qualifications and adherence to regional standards for practicing therapy.
• Educational background including a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

Preferred Experience

• Ideally, candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working within a Skilled Nursing Facility or a similar setting focused on geriatric rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with long-term care regulations and best practices in rehabilitative care for older adult populations is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a competitive benefits package that includes:
