Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensure
• Prior experience in a special education classroom preferred
• Comprehensive understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Strong skills creating differentiated lesson plans tailored to student abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with general education staff, related service providers, and families
• Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students receiving special education services
• Administer standardized and informal assessments and monitor student progress
• Write, review, and implement IEPs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Work with students in small groups to provide targeted support and instruction
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by local and federal guidelines
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues; participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to fit varying learning styles and abilities
