Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Draeger vent experience for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

Short term acute care hospital setting with 426 staffed beds

Level II Trauma Center

Part of the Yale New Haven Health System

Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed

Will float between Bridgeport Hospital and Milford campuses as needed

Travelers should expect to rotate through all hospital units including NICU and Pediatric units depending on census and staffing needs

Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience required

Minimum 1 year of Level III or IV NICU experience required

Acute care experience required

Level II Trauma experience required

Draeger vent experience required

Teaching hospital experience required

Prior travel assignment experience required, with no contracts under 13 weeks

BLS and CRT or RRT certification required

State license required if applicable

CT state license takes 15-21 business days to issue; candidates must apply prior to submission

NICU experience preferred but not required

PALS and NRP certifications preferred

One professional reference required

Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted

COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only

Additional Information

Provide respiratory therapy services across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations

May be asked to orientate students or new hires as needed

Participate in all required hospital modules prior to start and annually

Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed

Free parking available on site

Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the hospital

Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible to return as a traveler

Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
