Senior Accountant - Hybrid Rockwall, TX - 3 days in office Compensation $95-110k We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Senior Accountant to join a growing, private equity-backed company. This role will be instrumental in building, refining, and executing core accounting processes for a growing company. Reporting directly to the accounting manager, they will take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability of financial processes. This is a very hands-on, process-driven role designed to establish structure and discipline across the accounting function, ultimately freeing up time for leaders to focus on strategic initiatives such as audit readiness, financial planning, and growth execution. Vaco has placed and helped build out the accounting team here the past 2-3 years with extremely positive feedback Competitive benefits package, 401k match Day-to-Day Own and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with a focus on accuracy and timeliness Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP Analyze financial results and investigate variances, providing clear insights to leadership Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages Build, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance scalability and accuracy Establish a disciplined close calendar and enforce accountability across departments Support system enhancements or implementations as needed Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and cash management Prepare audit-ready schedules and documentation to support external audit processes Assist in coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables Collaborate with operations and other departments to improve financial visibility and discipline Potentially supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as the company grows Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry) Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment is highly preferred Proven ability to build and improve accounting processes in a hands-on capacity Strong attention to detail with the ability to operate both tactically and strategically Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
