ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:

The Pre-College Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening and expanding Lackawanna College’s Pre-College Program by building meaningful relationships with high schools and career and technical centers (CTCs) across an assigned region of Pennsylvania. This position serves as a connector between schools, students, families, and the College, supporting awareness, participation, and a positive Pre-College experience through clear communication, collaboration, and responsive support.

This remote position focuses on the Southwest Pennsylvania market. Applicants must be located in or near the Johnstown, Greensburg, or Indiana areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Build and sustain strong relationships with high schools and career and technical centers within the assigned region to support Pre-College program growth and meet established outreach and enrollment goals.
2. Engage and collaborate with educators and school leaders, to introduce, expand, and support Pre-College opportunities.
   Plan and deliver engaging presentations to small and large groups of students, families, and school personnel to increase awareness, participation, and program interest.
3. Serve as a primary point of contact for partner and prospective schools, clearly communicating program offerings, partnership requirements, and participation processes.
4. Support students and families throughout the Pre-College experience by providing guidance, answering questions, assisting with registration, and ensuring high-quality, student-centered experience.
5. Collaborate closely with internal teams across Pre-College, Enrollment, Academic Affairs, and Student Services to support coordinated outreach, student success, and continued program growth.
6. Track outreach activities, partnerships, and student engagement using College technology systems, travel within the assigned region as needed, and contribute to achieving program goals and strategic growth priorities.
7. Ability to work during high impact time periods and enrollment periods.
8. All other duties as assigned.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

1. Experience in recruiting, admissions, outreach, sales, or other relationship-based roles.
2. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage educators, students, and families effectively.
3. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to the needs of schools and students.
4. Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned region (approximately 25–50%), including occasional overnight trips.
5. Proficiency and confidence in using technology to support presentations, communications, tracking, and reporting.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree required

EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience in higher education admissions, enrollment management, or student services.
2. Familiarity with Pennsylvania K–12 school systems or career and technical education (CTCs).
3. Experience working with students and families in an educational or advising capacity.
4. Comfort delivering presentations to small and large groups.
