What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities: Perform all maintenance tasks as needed, according to skills/abilities and consistent with regulations and facility policy. Monitor operation and condition of equipment and systems are monitored routinely, and preventive/corrective maintenance is done in a timely manner to minimize disruption to a safe, comfortable environment. Assist in monitoring operation of general systems such as heating/cooling; report problems or malfunctions immediately. Assist housekeeping staff with heavy floor care (strip/wax/buff) and other heavy cleaning, trash collection, and/or removal. Assure appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available for performance of maintenance duties; establish and maintain inventory and records of purchase. Maintain outside walkways in a safe condition for use, i.e., assure prompt snow/ice removal. Maintain lawn and landscaping. Assure facility or equipment modifications, preventive maintenance, or repairs are done in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, regulations, and laws. Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS). Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy. Assist in inspections, fire and disaster drills, and training; report outcome according to established procedure. Use equipment, tools, supplies, and chemicals according to instructions, observing safety precautions and protective measures. Qualifications: Someone who enjoys hands-on work and experience. Interest in creating and maintaining a home-like atmosphere. Provide general upkeep and implement a preventative maintenance program. Proficiency with tools and equipment for basic repair work.
