This role will report to Equipment Engineering Senior Manager and based in Fremont CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.Role and Responsibilities:Support equipment across various manufacturing lines, with differing levels of complexitySkilled in diagnosing and fixing manufacturing equipmentAutomated EquipmentProvide support for equipment through PLC and HMI programming, encompassing motion and servo control systemsAbility to modify existing control logic to improve safety, performance or throughputParticipate in commissioning of new automated equipment and ensure all devices function as designedInstallation, commissioning and support of vision systems for tracking and quality inspectionsConducts engineering tasks in mechanical, electrical, and structural systems for testing, material handling, welding, and machining equipmentOversee equipment installation as well as start-up and implementation projectsPartner with Advanced Manufacturing Engineers to lead FAT, equipment validation, and production handoverDevelop equipment specifications and documents for the manufacturing assembly, testing and material handling processesOversee project timelines, financial planning, and prepare comprehensive status reports for leadershipWork with vendors, facility engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to manage project implementationFind ways to boost safety, cut costs, enhance efficiency, and raise qualityPrepare or approve system as-built drawingsWillingness to work flexible hours, including off shifts and weekends, as required by business needsSkills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or related engineering field.Manufacturing or Equipment Engineer with 7+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment.Experience with robotics, motion control, pneumatics, and machine vision systems.Equipment requirement development and specification writingKnowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standardsKnowledge of Autocad, Solidworks and MS Office suiteStrong communication and collaboration skillsDesired Qualifications:Experience in high-volume thin ceramics, solar, or battery manufacturing is a plusExperience in thermal equipment/process development and high-volume manufacturing integration.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours per shiftOccasionally lift/carry up to 25 lbsUse hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shiftVisual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materialsHearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staffAbility to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodationMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots)Bloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
