We are seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance / Building Technician to support daily maintenance operations within a busy distribution center. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in facilities maintenance, mechanical repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate will be comfortable diagnosing equipment issues, completing building repairs, and ensuring the facility remains safe and operational.

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Position Summary:

The Maintenance / Building Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, repairing facility equipment, and supporting the overall upkeep of a distribution center. This role requires a hands-on technician who can independently diagnose problems, complete repairs, and respond to unexpected maintenance needs to minimize operational disruptions.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on facility equipment, machinery, and building systems.
• Respond to emergency and unscheduled maintenance requests to minimize operational downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
• Repair or replace defective parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, and minor facility repairs.
• Inspect and maintain warehouse equipment and supporting facility systems.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, maintenance instructions, and work orders.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and other maintenance equipment.
• Identify potential maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Follow all company safety procedures, facility regulations, and applicable food safety requirements.
• Communicate maintenance concerns and repair updates to management.
• Complete additional maintenance duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant maintenance experience preferred, particularly in a warehouse, distribution center, or commercial/industrial facility.
• Previous experience performing building and facilities maintenance.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance requests.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Training or experience with PLCs, servo systems, or industrial electrical components.
• Experience using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
• Previous experience working in a food storage or distribution environment.
• Technical training or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or facilities maintenance.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Distribution center and warehouse environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work in various maintenance areas.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to warehouse machinery, equipment, and varying temperatures.
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the facility.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
