ABOUT PITTOCK MANSION

Pittock Mansion is a 1914 historic house museum, owned by the City of Portland, Parks and Recreation and operated by the Pittock Mansion Society. The premises include the Mansion, the Gate Lodge, and the Garage, with beautiful gardens adjacent to Pittock Vista Point. The mission of the organization is to inspire understanding and stewardship of Portland history through Pittock Mansion, its collections, and programs. Having grown to attract approximately 90,000 annual visitors in recent years, Pittock Mansion is one of the top tourist destinations in Portland. The Parking Attendant will support the Operations Department with the main task of managing daily parking lot operations, ensuring smooth traffic flow, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves handling transactions, directing vehicles, and performing other operational tasks as deemed necessary by management. The location for the parking fee collection is outdoors in Forest Parks at the entrance to the Pittock grounds. Provide courteous and professional service to all customers. Payment Processing: Securely and accurately collect credit card and cash payments for parking. Adhere to all organizational cash handling policies. Direct incoming customers to available parking area Place and collect Parking signage at the start and completion of the shift Actively monitor the upper parking lot to ensure security and order Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times in compliance with company standards. Alert the supervisor immediately to any unusual circumstances, safety hazards, or incidents at the parking facility that require attention. Physical Qualifications Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from work sites as needed. This position requires the ability to navigate uneven terrain, including stairs and hills, at this historic site. Candidates should be comfortable with walking up hills and climbing stairs.
