In this position, you'll be responsible for performing all aspects of processing, preservation and storage of tissues in an FDA regulated environment. Works in a team environment under aseptic conditions while performing controlled production processes. Performs quality assessments of tissue products and documentation. Each departmental processing technician position entails a level of complexity that varies based on physical demands, knowledge of human anatomy required, number of graft lines/product families processed, complexity of processes required for proficiency, number and types of equipment operated, degree of manual dexterity and fine motor skills required, and other special needs.These roles are critical to the LifeNet Health mission because it is an important step in taking the donor's gifts and transitioning them to the lifesaving and health restoring allografts for patients around the globe.Your work will have purpose every single day, contributing directly to life-changing outcomes.What You'll DoTissue Processing: Reviews work orders or processing instructions/scheduling prior to initiating production. Works with production supervisors to adjust plans as needed. Performs all aspects of processing tissue (debridement, dissection, cutting, cleaning and disinfection, sizing, assessing) according to current procedures and protocols. Assists supervisory team in production enhancement and improvement initiatives.Packaging: Perform all aspects of packaging and preservation of tissue products (confirmation of sizing, quality, packaging materials, cryopreservation, etc.) according to current procedures and protocols.Documentation & Data Entry: Document all processes and functions performed in accordance with all procedures and protocols.Decontamination: Perform post-processing decontamination of equipment and the processing room according to current procedures and protocols.What You'll BringMinimum Requirements:High School or GED requiredMust be 18 years of age or older to applyTwo years of work experience is requiredPreferred Experience/Skills/Certifications:Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) Certification preferredOne (1) year Tissue Processing, Tissue Recovery, Manufacturing, Operations, or as a Surgical TechnicianTwo (2) years' experience working in a non-clerical, fast-paced, hands-on settingKey Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Able to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure accuracy and completenessAble to convey information verbally and in writingProficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Computer Software, DatabasesAble to learn new skills, grafts, and adapt to developing product linesAble to prioritize multiple, competing priorities and manage time/workloadAble to work collaboratively in a team environmentTechnical skills (preferred), General knowledge of anatomy, able to use surgical instrumentation and equipmentWhy Join LifeNet HealthWhen you join LifeNet Health, you're not just taking a job, you're joining a mission-driven community dedicated to making a global impact through regenerative medicine. The pay range for this position is a flat rate of $20.36 hourly (entry level).
