You will support a 26-bed Acute Care for the Elderly unit focused on preserving mobility, cognitive function, and each patient's path toward recovery.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Columbia, South Carolina
• Assignment Type: Med-Surg Telemetry travel nursing contract
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,710–$1,800
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 of 3 designated holidays
• Unit: 26-bed Acute Care for the Elderly medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Floating: May be required to float to other qualified units or campuses based on patient-care needs

Med-Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• Active South Carolina or multistate Registered Nurse license
• At least 1 year of recent Med-Surg Telemetry RN experience
• At least 1 year of Epic electronic health record experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification or competency, as required for the assignment
• Demonstrated experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in an acute-care setting
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV starts, blood product administration, and central, peripheral, and PICC line care
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and required holidays
• Strong communication, organization, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms remotely and recognize, interpret, and appropriately respond to dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications, blood products, and therapies in accordance with established protocols.
• Manage peripheral IVs, central lines, PICC lines, ports, and other vascular access devices.
• Follow heparin protocols and accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic.
• Promote mobility, cognitive function, fall prevention, and recovery for older adults receiving acute care.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapy services, pharmacy, respiratory care, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners.
• Float to qualified areas when requested and maintain high standards of patient care across assigned settings.
