Mortgage Loan Processor

Job Description

The Mortgage Loan Processor reports to the Mortgage Processing Supervisor. The primary functions include processing mortgage loan applications, assisting assigned originators, and acting as a coach and mentor to other processors within the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities include:

• Verifying all information received in the mortgage loan application via letters to employers, banks, creditors, etc.
• Maintaining logs and files as necessary regarding mortgage loan applications processed.
• Ordering appraisals, surveys, and updated credit reports, as directed by the Underwriter.
• Communicating and coordinating with originators and members, collection of documentation and information, stipulations/conditions or any other pertinent data needed to submit to underwriting and obtain approval.
• Addressing member concerns and inquiries quickly, professionally, and courteously.
• Inputting, validating, and confirming all required data into appropriate Automated Underwriting (AU) system(s) required for approval and closing.
• Ordering items timely and accurately to ensure processing time frames are met and production standards and goals are achieved.
• Responding to Quality Control and Loan Delivery requests within specified time lines as directed by each department.
• Providing assistance to and helping in the training of other processors as necessary.
• Reviewing processed loan packages prior to submission to ensure completeness, quality, and accuracy.
• Participating in seminars and other training to maintain required knowledge and skill development. Completing all required training within specified deadlines.
• Acting as a Team Lead within your department. Coaching, training, and mentoring other Processors.
• Expert pipeline management and meeting deadlines.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The qualifications include:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One to two years in the Processor III position or prior mortgage experience. Two plus years direct public contact preferred. Expert proficient at typing with a knowledge of office machines, some math aptitude and letter composition familiarity. One year experience in mortgage loan processing with basic knowledge of most program processing requirements. Personal computer experience preferred.
• Tenure: Processor I (Category 13) requires 12 months tenure in a Category 14 mortgage position with a meets or exceeds expectations. Processor II (Category 12) requires 12 months tenure in Processor I (Category 13) position with a meets or exceeds expectations. Processor III (Category 11) requires 1-2 years tenure in a Processor II (Category 12) position with a meets or exceeds expectations. Senior Processor (Category 10) requires 1-2 years in a Processor III (Category 11) position with a meets or exceeds expectations. Directly related work experience and/or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure for all positions.

Compensation

Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and applicable local or state wage requirements, and will fall within the range provided below. In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.

Salary Pay Range: 10

$63,233 - $99,908 annually
