Description

This position is responsible for installation and repairs of various types of truck equipment to the municipal, industrial, commercial and private industries.

Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Installation of various types of truck equipment, including: dump bodies, roll off hoists, flatbeds, snow and ice equipment, hydraulic wet kits, auxiliary axles and other equipment.
• Ensures that all welds meet quality assurance standards
• Determines appropriate welds, per customer specifications.
• Attends product and technical training courses as requested by sales manager.
• Keeps up-to-date on new products and services within the industry.
• Prep parts (cut grind, sand etc.)
• Read, comprehend, and execute ROs and Blueprints
• Works with supervisor to provide and understand proper Job Order procedures.

And follows up on project accuracy and detail to make sure end product is built to customers' orders or bid specs.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

Basic computer skills preferred

Three to five years of welding experience in 1 or more of the following: MIG, TIG, Stick

Possess a technical understanding of Class 7 and Class 8 diesel truck chassis

Must be able to understand chassis specification data and chassis design drawings and dimensions

As well as equipment specification data and technical drawings

Should have a strong knowledge of equipment hydraulic applications, air and electrical circuit applications

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals. Ability to write reports, and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers

English and/or bilingual English/Spanish

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, add, subtract, multiply and divide alone with ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Driver's License/ CDL License preferred
