Cloud Engineer

Salary: $120,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for 5+ years of software or cloud development experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead cloud position, paired with a bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• We need deep hands-on experience with major cloud providers and hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• We require advanced programming ability in Python, Java, or comparable languages for cloud-native development.
• We seek expert-level skills with automation and infrastructure tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible, as well as container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
• We value a strong grasp of DevSecOps principles and secure software development practices.
• We need demonstrated experience building, deploying, and supporting mission-critical cloud applications.
• We require the ability to work onsite five days a week in Huntsville, AL and to maintain an active Top Secret clearance.
• Preferred: IAM/IAT Level 3 certification, such as CISM, CCSP, CASP, or CISSP.
• Preferred: Professional cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect.
• Preferred: Experience with Zero Trust Architecture, serverless technologies, and event-driven design patterns.
• Preferred: Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and compliance standards such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and ISO 27001.

• We research, architect, develop, and modify enterprise-wide systems and applications, including DevOps, security, and data analytics solutions.
• We drive and support system planning and development deployments while helping ensure software compliance standards, especially around integrations and analytics.
• We build prototypes using emerging technologies and innovative methods.
• We maintain and review application systems and programs, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
• We design cloud service delivery models such as PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS to meet business, security, and compliance needs.
• We lead the creation of reusable, scalable, and secure multi-cloud architectures.
• We implement Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab.
• We apply DevSecOps best practices so security and compliance are embedded throughout the cloud development lifecycle.
• We assess existing applications for cloud readiness and develop tailored migration strategies.
• We lead cloud migration efforts to minimize disruption and improve performance.
• We develop approaches for failover recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
• We recommend improvements to application performance, cloud spend, and scalability.
• We work with cybersecurity and compliance teams to ensure cloud deployments meet internal and regulatory requirements.
• We implement cloud-native security services and monitor for vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and threats.
• We mentor junior and mid-level developers on cloud technologies, best practices, and solution delivery, while serving as a technical advisor across cross-functional teams and participating in enterprise cloud governance.
