Position Details Title: Controls Technician Location: Boston, MA (Greater Boston Area) Compensation: $38.00/hr – $48.00/hr + Overtime Bonus: Year-End Performance & Profitability Bonus Employment Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities Install, commission, and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS) across diverse facility types Coordinate BAS installations according to engineered drawings, specifications, and project standards Mount and wire controllers, sensors, and control panels; test and validate control sequences Program and integrate BAS software databases, including custom logic, sequence modifications, and system tuning Perform point-to-point verification and full-system commissioning to ensure system integrity and performance Diagnose issues with inputs, outputs, network communication, and field devices Work with BAS communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and LON Collaborate with building owners, GCs, engineers, and end users to support successful project turnover Ideal Candidate Previous experience as a Controls Technician or similar BAS controls role Strong proficiency in controls integration, programming, and commissioning practices Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals and HVAC equipment operation Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic capabilities, and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented communicator who can work independently and as part of a team What’s Offered $38.00/hr – $48.00/hr (based on experience) Overtime Opportunities Annual Year-End Bonus (Performance & Company Profitability) Company Vehicle with Fuel & Maintenance Included Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage Life Insurance, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability 401(k) Program with 3% Company Match – Fully Vested Day One Generous PTO, Holidays, Sick Leave, and a Paid Birthday Off About the Company Fred Williams, an Equans MEP Services Company, is a highly respected mechanical and buildingservices provider serving the Northeast since 1936.
