Quality Inspector – Precision Machining | Clean, Climate‑Controlled Facility Join a precision‑focused, growth‑oriented manufacturing team where you’ll ensure incoming materials and machined parts meet strict quality, regulatory, and customer standards. This role is ideal for detail‑driven inspectors who enjoy hands‑on work, interpreting technical data, and supporting continuous improvement in a clean, climate‑controlled environment. What You’ll Do Inspect incoming materials to verify compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements Perform in‑process inspections on machined parts using drawings, GD&T, and product specifications Verify operator self‑checks and ensure machinists follow established quality procedures Follow quality system procedures and maintain complete, accurate inspection records Interpret blueprints and GD&T to determine inspection criteria and measurement methods Review supplier documentation for compliance with quality standards Operate precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and more Optionally operate CMM equipment for advanced dimensional inspections Calibrate measurement equipment according to schedules and procedures Use ERP systems and office machines to record results and track materials Create and update documentation using MS Office applications Communicate professionally with internal teams and vendors regarding nonconformances and corrective actions Work independently to plan and complete inspection tasks within production timelines Maintain a clean, organized work area aligned with company standards Support manufacturing and improvement efforts as needed Comply with all quality system requirements at all times Essential Skills 3–5 years of inspection experience in a machine shop environment preferred Proficiency with precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges Blueprint and GD&T interpretation Machined component inspection experience Understanding of quality systems and documentation practices Ability to operate and maintain measurement tools Strong communication skills for internal and vendor interactions Independent time management to meet inspection deadlines MS Office proficiency ERP system familiarity Additional Skills & Qualifications CNC operating familiarity and machining process knowledge Grinding experience and related inspection requirements Practical GD&T application in precision machining Optional CMM experience Continuous improvement support Comfort in mixed environments including warehouse, office, and controlled areas Why You’ll Love Working Here Precision‑focused, supportive culture that values craftsmanship and continuous learning Clear advancement opportunities based on performance and skill development Comprehensive benefits package , including: 401(k) with company matching Health, dental, and vision insurance HSA options Life & AD&D insurance at 2× your wage Paid time off Tuition reimbursement after one year Strong commitment to employee growth , training, and long‑term success Work Environment Well‑lit, climate‑controlled precision machining facility Mix of older and newer machines for diverse inspection exposure Work performed across shop, warehouse, office, and controlled environments Air‑conditioned in summer and heated in winter for consistent comfort Access to precision tools, inspection equipment, and standard office technology Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fridley, MN.
