We are looking for a detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement activities for a Contract position based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role partners with internal departments to secure goods and services efficiently while maintaining strong purchasing controls, sound contract practices, and high service standards. The Buyer will help manage sourcing, vendor relationships, and documentation to ensure timely, cost-effective purchasing decisions that align with organizational needs.

Responsibilities:
• Review and process purchasing requests and capital-related procurement needs for internal departments, converting approved requirements into accurate purchase orders.
• Manage the full purchasing cycle from order creation through final closeout, ensuring transactions are complete, well-documented, and compliant with established policies.
• Lead competitive sourcing activities, evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate commercial terms that support quality, value, and risk reduction.
• Prepare and maintain contract records, including agreed pricing, terms, renewal timelines, and opportunities for savings or standardization.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders to help keep orders, deliveries, and service commitments on schedule.
• Provide guidance to team members and business partners on procurement practices, supplier engagement, and contract-related considerations.
• Conduct market analysis to stay informed on available products, services, and industry capabilities relevant to departmental purchasing needs.
• Maintain complete procurement files, including quote comparisons, supplier selection rationale, and vendor performance history.
• Work closely with legal partners when contract review or specialized terms require additional oversight and support.• At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or buyer-related work.
• Demonstrated understanding of purchase order management, supplier negotiations, and contract documentation.
• Ability to interpret commercial terms and conditions and apply sound judgment in purchasing decisions.
• Experience supporting internal stakeholders in a detail-oriented, service-focused environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on concurrent procurement activities.
• Proficiency with business systems and records management tools; familiarity with Health Information Management, AHLTA, McKesson, EHR systems, and IBM AS/400 is preferred.
• Effective communication skills for working with vendors, cross-functional teams, and legal or compliance partners.
