Senior Personnel Specialist - Telework Hybrid

Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

It is the responsibility of each Human Resources Branch (HRB) employee to maintain a constructive, customer-focused, and solution-oriented attitude that supports teamwork and cooperative working relationships.  Under the general direction of the Supervisor I, the incumbent works independently and with minimal supervision to perform complex analytical and technical transaction-related duties.

The position(s) being advertised may be subject to allocation approval by the Human Resources Branch.  Fingerprint/Criminal Record Clearance is required before hire.  The Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full-time appointment.  Moving and relocation expenses will not be reimbursed for this position.

Working Conditions

Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency. This position offers hybrid telework opportunities; however, telework arrangements are subject to change at any time based on State & departmental operational needs. Employee may be required to report to the office as neccessary.

This position is located in a standard office environment with a combination of in-office and telework as determined by operational needs. The incumbent may be required to sit fo extended periods of time and use a computer and standard office equipment. Occasional overtime may be required to meet operational needs and deadline.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Knowledge of general office equipment and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, FileMaker Pro, State Controller’s Office systems, and CalPERS.

Ability to research and interpret laws, rules, policies and procedures related to HR programs. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify issues, and make sound recommendations. Experience coordinating complex projects, managing competing priorities, and ensuring compliance with established timelines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to staff, management, and control agencies. Experience with ACA compliance reporting and benefits administration processes.
