About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Legal Officer to spearhead the establishment and leadership of its legal function during a phase of significant expansion. The successful candidate will be a key partner across the company's finance, development, and operations teams, providing senior legal advice on a wide range of matters, including corporate, commercial, financing, development, and regulatory issues. This role is pivotal in leading negotiations for complex agreements and supporting the company's long-term strategy, particularly in the context of nationally significant infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a JD from an accredited law school, active U.S. bar membership, and a minimum of 12 years' transactional legal experience, with a strong background in infrastructure, energy, project finance, construction, or commercial real estate. Applicants for the Chief Legal Officer position at the company should possess a proven track record in negotiating and closing high-value transactions, as well as a deep understanding of development, regulatory, and commercial contracting matters. Experience in advising executive leadership and managing legal risk within a growth-oriented organization is essential, and prior experience in establishing or leading an in-house legal function is highly valued. The role requires outstanding communication, negotiation, and business judgment, and the ability to build and scale legal operations, including contract management, compliance programs, and outside counsel oversight. The Chief Legal Officer will also be instrumental in supporting land acquisition, development, permitting, zoning, and related property transactions, and will work closely with executive leadership on strategic investments, financing initiatives, and business expansion.
