The current vacancies are in the Family Health Services and Behavioral Health Services Divisions. The mission of Family Health Services (FHS) FHS is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a safety net provider. We offer primary medical and dental care with a special commitment to the uninsured, low‑income, and medically underserved. FHS operates four conveniently located clinics in Fairfield, Vacaville, and Vallejo and mobile medical and dental vans that provide primary care and dental services. Our outpatient primary care clinics operate five days a week, with some weekend and evening hours. A Lead Medical Assistant is needed full time for the expansion of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and to guide the work assignments for all Medical Assistants within BH, coordinate with family health clinics and other FQHCs and primary care for integration of all related BH services. MA Lead provides support and training to MAs on clinical tasks including vital, ANC testing, coordinating lab services, EKGs, etc. MA Lead supports MAs’ work other agencies to obtain information, coordinate services, determine appropriate venue for service, provide cross‑training. Coordinate with physicians, caseworkers, community and support services, and primary care referral needs for clients upon transitions from services, jails, or hospitals. Conduct medical review of clients, facilitate appropriate referrals and transport clients as needed to promote service engagement. This position serves as a liaison to emergency departments, county jail, local medical providers and internal clinics to assist clients to access MAT services. Click here to learn more about the Behavioral Health Service Division THE POSITION In addition to performing all tasks associated with the Medical Assistant classification, the Medical Assistant (Lead) provides lead guidance and training to Medical Assistants and student interns as well as assists with clinic flow, referral processing, and staffing. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Experience: One (1) year of experience performing duties comparable to the County of Solano class of Medical Assistant. LICENSING / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS California Driver's License, Class C Possession of a valid Medical Assistant certificate issued by an accredited college or institution. Curriculum must include laboratory drawing of blood and collection of other specimens, venipuncture, injection administration, and performing Electrocardiograms (EKGs) and/or X‑ray procedures including chest X‑rays (CXR) and extremities. Possession of a valid Phlebotomy Certificate Possession of a valid CPR Certificate Certifications from any of the following organizations do not meet our requirements for the medical assistant certificate American Medical Association (AMA) California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CCBMA) National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Proof of a valid Medical Assistant certificate, Phlebotomy certificate and CPR certificate are required to be submitted by the application review deadline. COVID‑19 VACCINE REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued a State Public Health Officer Order on August 5, 2021, which requires workers in health care settings to be vaccinated. Individuals assigned to the clinics must show proof of vaccination. If religious belief or medical reason prevents vaccination, a request must be submitted to the Department of Human Resources well in advance of the first date of employment.
