Accounting Supervisor

This individual will partner closely with leadership to ensure accurate financial records, maintain compliance with accounting standards, support audits, and drive process improvements across the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports Review and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts Prepare and review journal entries Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules Monitor cash activity and perform bank reconciliations Manage month-end accruals and prepaid expense schedules Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support external audits and prepare required audit schedules Assist with cash flow reporting and forecasting Analyze financial data and identify process improvement opportunities Monitor compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation Accounts Payable Leadership Oversee day-to-day accounts payable operations Review invoice coding and supporting documentation Ensure timely processing of vendor payments Support expense reimbursement and corporate card programs Resolve vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies Manage electronic invoice workflows and approval processes Oversee vendor setup and maintenance activities Supervise AP staff and provide ongoing training, coaching, and support Annual Compliance & Reporting Coordinate year-end reporting requirements, including 1099 preparation and reconciliation Review and resolve reporting discrepancies Assist with tax-related reporting activities Prepare recurring financial and operational reports for leadership Support year-end audit and compliance initiatives Process Improvement & Special Projects Evaluate accounting workflows and recommend efficiencies Identify automation opportunities and process improvements Partner with leadership on finance-related projects and initiatives Support cross-functional departments with reporting and analysis needs Assist with onboarding and development of accounting personnel Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience Previous accounting supervisory or team lead experience required Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes Advanced general ledger and account reconciliation experience Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP systems Experience with Concur or other expense management platforms Experience with financial reporting and management reporting tools Background in nonprofit, healthcare, insurance, professional services, membership-based organizations, or other complex accounting environments Experience supporting organizations with multiple entities, departments, or reporting structures Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and process improvement initiatives Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and a 401(k) plan.
