K-8 Healthy Living Teacher

Thales Academy Waxhaw is accepting applications for a K-8 Healthy Living Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The position includes teaching Physical Education and Healthy Habits. K-8 Healthy Living Teacher Location: Thales Academy Waxhaw, Waxhaw, NC. Thales Academy is committed to providing an excellent and affordable education for students in Pre‑K to 12th grades through Direct Instruction and a Classical Curriculum. The Healthy Living Teacher will contribute to a rigorous academic environment that fosters ethical behavior, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. Responsibilities Implement the approved curriculum, providing pacing guides, lesson plans, and assessments for assigned courses. Cooperate with colleagues to develop teaching skills. Collaborate in team planning meetings and share curriculum and instructional expertise. Participate in professional development opportunities. Maintain professional etiquette in verbal and nonverbal communications. Promote communication among parents, community members, and teammates, and work to establish and maintain home‑school connections. Assist in providing opportunities for parental/guardian involvement within the school. Qualifications A passion for teaching. Teaching experience preferred but not required.
