Role Description The Certified Medical Assistant is a part-time, on-site role based in Myrtle Beach, SC. This role supports the family medicine provider with direct patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, updating medical histories, and assisting with basic clinical procedures. The Certified Medical Assistant also manages routine clinical tasks such as rooming patients, sterilizing equipment, performing point-of-care tests, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked and organized. Administrative responsibilities may include scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, managing electronic health records, and handling patient communications. The role requires consistent attention to patient safety, confidentiality, and a professional, compassionate approach to care. Qualifications Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) and completion of an accredited medical assistant program. Clinical skills in vital signs measurement, patient intake, routine procedures, and point-of-care testing, with strong attention to infection control and safety protocols. Experience with electronic health records (EHR), basic medical documentation, and handling patient information in compliance with HIPAA. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and clinical staff in a professional, respectful manner. Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple patients and tasks in a busy family medicine setting. Ability to work on-site, stand for extended periods, and perform typical clinical duties, with reliable transportation to the Myrtle Beach, SC location. CPR/BLS certification and prior experience in a primary care or family medicine clinic are preferred.
