Role Description The Special Needs Ministry Program Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating programs that support individuals with special needs and their families. This role is based in Houston, Texas with a combination of on-site responsibilities and weekend hours. Day-to-day tasks include developing inclusive ministry activities, coordinating program schedules, and collaborating with church leadership, volunteers, and caregivers to ensure safe and welcoming environments. The coordinator will communicate regularly with families, assess needs, and adjust programming accordingly, while also managing logistics such as volunteer assignments, materials, and spaces. Additional responsibilities may include maintaining program records, supporting events and trainings, and helping promote the ministry within the church and surrounding community. Qualifications Strong Program Management and Program Development skills to design, implement, and evaluate inclusive special needs ministry initiatives. Effective Communication and Customer Service abilities to engage with individuals with special needs, families, volunteers, and church staff in a respectful, empathetic manner. Project Management experience to coordinate events, schedules, and resources across multiple programs and stakeholders. Experience or demonstrated interest in working with individuals with special needs or in inclusive ministry, education, or community services. Ability to build and lead volunteer teams, including training, scheduling, and ongoing support. Strong organizational skills, reliability, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Comfort working in a faith-based environment and collaborating with diverse congregants and community members.
