The role The Senior Accountant will support key areas of the controllership function, with primary responsibilities across cash, inventory, intangible assets, foreign currency-related accounting, and monthly close activities. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accountant looking to own and improve core operational accounting processes in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in day-to-day accounting—while helping drive improvements in data integrity, systems, and controls. What You Will Do Cash Reconcile 50+ bank statements to the general ledger on a monthly basis Investigate and resolve reconciling items, outstanding checks, and unidentified deposits Assist in further automating the recording of cash transactions using Kyriba and prepare cash-related journal entries where automation is not feasible Assist with audit requests related to cash confirmations and supporting schedules Reconcile detailed listings of inventory to the general ledger on a monthly basis Prepare inventory-related journal entries to ensure the general ledger agrees to the detailed inventory listings Prepare inventory roll-forward schedules on a quarterly basis Coordinate annual physical inventory counts at in-scope locations, review the results, and ensure the general ledger is properly reconciled to the counted figures Intangible Assets Maintain the intangible asset register Record additions, when applicable Calculate and record monthly amortization in accordance with useful life and applicable accounting standards (ASC 350/ASC 805) Reconcile intangible asset subledgers to the general ledger on a monthly basis Reconcile exchange rates used in ERP system to third party source on a monthly basis Calculate and prepare journal entries to record the impact of remeasuring intercompany loans denominated in foreign currencies Monthly Close Activities Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across assigned areas Ensure deadlines are met and close processes are documented and effective Maintain accounting documentation and improve process clarity across recurring tasks Systems, Controls, & Compliance Support automation and system enhancements for lease and accounting workflows Help maintain SOX-compliant control environment across assigned areas Prepare audit-ready documentation and assist with internal and external audit requests Participate in special projects, including consolidations and system implementations What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred or in progress 3–6 years of experience in accounting; technical accounting and/or controllership experience highly valued; Big 4 accounting preferred Strong working knowledge of US GAAP SOX compliance experience required Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion ideal) Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management capabilities Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and a willingness to learn new topics Strong interpersonal skills and ability to navigate fast-paced, cross-functional environments What we offer As an NFE employee, you’ll enjoy unique benefits including a generous vacation policy; medical, dental, and vision coverage; a healthcare concierge; free short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance; a 401K plan; commuter benefits; team events; healthy snacks; and even an onsite gym.
