Project Manager II

As a Project Manager II, you will manage projects of moderate visibility and complexity, either overseeing multiple projects or one larger project. Under the supervision of a portfolio or program manager, you will ensure the successful completion of projects by assembling teams, assigning responsibilities, and managing resources. Responsibilities Manage multiple projects or a larger project, overseeing all phases from proposal development to project closeout. Assemble project teams, assign individual responsibilities, and identify appropriate resources. Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Interface with internal and external customers or field‑based employees on technical matters as needed. Communicate project status with senior project managers, functional area managers, or program managers. Track progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators. Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status. Ensure timely completion of projects by developing and adhering to schedules. Remain agile and flexible to adapt to frequent changes in project requirements or scope. Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. 4+ years of experience in project management and/or a related or technical field. If lacking a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience is required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software. Demonstrated experience managing a complex project with a multi‑function team. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. Strong analytical, leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills. Hands‑on experience with Earned Value Management (EVM). Experience with large‑scale supplier management. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Experience managing projects requiring Earned Value Management. Experience with risk management planning and documentation. Experience managing project scope and scope creep during execution. Experience in resource planning and management during project execution. Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing principles. Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and CMMI process standards. Familiarity with government contracting and regulations. Essential Functions Ability to work at a computer for extended periods. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel as required. Capacity to work in a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote work.
