Hutchinson Public School District is seeking a Lead Administrative Assistant for Hutchinson High School.

This is a full-time, year-round position (260 days with 8-hour shifts), with full benefits.

Job Summary:

Carry out lead administrative assistant duties as the primary Administrative Assistant to the Hutchinson High School Principal. Work efficiently to provide support and assistance to students, staff and the public. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of any information regarding students, personnel and all job-related matters. Perform the duties of this position in accordance with the District mission statement to continually improve ISD423 services.


The salary range for this position is $21.89 per hour - $24.89 per hour. Salary is dependent upon education and experience.


Responsibilities Include:

• Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Budgets:
  • Keep day-to-day records of supply and capital budgets, inform staff of conflicts and changes that are made to annual budgets
  • Process purchase orders, expense vouchers, and invoices
  • Code invoices and purchase orders to appropriate budget account codes
  • Maintain school purchasing card and other credit cards
• Scheduling and Staffing:
  • Call subs as needed and maintain sub data with contracted service provider
  • Run substitute and time clock system for the high school
  • Maintain and code payroll and leave records for district and substitute staff (time card review, leave form reconciliation, etc.)
  • Assist in the onboarding process for staff and substitute workers (keys, email, log-in, room assignment, introduction to staff, etc.)
• Administrative Support:
  • Provide assistance to the Principal and Assistant Principal
  • Public relations/customer service for students, parents and staff
  • Assist in maintaining security
  • Provide general clerical duties (update documents, mail, phone,etc.)
  • Maintain equipment, supplies and service
  • Clerical responsibilities associated with Graduation

Essential Skills:

• Professional communication skills and proficiency in computer software including Google (Gmail, Docs, Sheets), Microsoft (Word, Excel) and accounting software such as SMART Finance.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate's Degree preferred, but not required.
