Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacy Technician role located in Madison, WI. The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists by accurately preparing and dispensing medications, including filling prescriptions, packaging doses, and labeling products in accordance with safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory levels, checking expiration dates, stocking shelves, and assisting with ordering to ensure medication availability across hospital and clinic settings. The role involves interacting with patients, nurses, and other care team members to address medication-related questions, provide courteous service, and help resolve issues promptly. The Pharmacy Technician also participates in medication reconciliation, documentation, and quality assurance activities to support safe, efficient pharmacy operations. Qualifications Strong knowledge of pharmacy practices and workflows, including experience in hospital or clinic Pharmacy settings. Demonstrated ability to handle Prescription processing, including interpreting orders, preparing doses, and adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines. Experience working as Pharmacy Technicians or in a similar role, with familiarity in collaborating closely with pharmacists and clinical staff. Skills in Inventory Control, including stocking, rotating, and tracking medications and supplies to ensure accurate levels and minimize waste. Excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, maintain professionalism, and provide respectful, patient-centered support. Relevant certification or registration as a Pharmacy Technician (e.g., CPhT) preferred or required according to Wisconsin regulations. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or training in pharmacy or healthcare is beneficial. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
