Position Summary
SMX Services & Consulting, Inc. is seeking experienced Mainframe Computer Operators to support mainframe data center operations at the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO), 732 North Capitol Street NW, Washington, DC 20401.
This is a 100% onsite position requiring hands-on experience operating mainframe data center equipment, including high-speed laser printers, impact printers, and burster equipment.
Required Experience
Candidates must have documented, in-depth experience with:
- High-speed laser printer operation and maintenance
- Impact printer operation and maintenance
- Burster equipment
- Mainframe data center operations
- Mainframe job processing and operational support
- JCL and TSO
- Job scheduling and tracking
- Report handling and distribution
- Printer troubleshooting
- Loading and managing paper, toner, developer, and related supplies
- Coordinating equipment issues with operating-system and printer maintenance personnel
Work Schedule
The Government requires two operational shifts:
Shift 1: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM Shift 2: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
Candidates must be able to report onsite to:
U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) 732 North Capitol Street NW Washington, DC 20401
Mandatory Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be available for 100% onsite work at the GPO facility in Washington, DC
- Remote work is not available
- Must have demonstrated mainframe data center experience
- Must have hands-on high-speed laser printer experience
- Must have hands-on impact printer experience
- Must have experience operating burster equipment
- Must provide a complete resume documenting relevant experience
Pay: $55.59–$57.77/hour
