Academic Administrator - Sociology

Position Summary Arts & Science is seeking a dynamic Academic Administrator to join the Department of Sociology. This individual will administer advisement for current and prospective students, assist with curriculum planning, course scheduling, and registration; manage the graduate admissions process along with the Director of Graduate Studies and admissions chair; administer graduate school fellowship and award process; process and approve graduations; provide light supervision of casual employees; act as administrative liaison with other school and University offices; interpret and apply University policies to plan and manage moderately complex administrative matters, referring complex cases to supervisor and/or school administrative leadership. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education: Master's Degree Required Experience: 2+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of work and education. Must include experience with counseling and/or academic advising, special events planning and implementation. Preferred Experience: Experience in an academic environment. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. Knowledge of standard office software. Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $71,609.07 to USD $75,000.00. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
